When we actually met someone we want to date, dating over 50 doesn't feel any different to dating when we were teenagers. That same tummy flip is there, as are the countless thoughts of your new date running through your head all the time. Going out for a date is still filled with the age old dread of 'does this dress look OK', 'does this shirt go with this jacket'. The best thing about it all is that it's still fun.

The new age of social media and Web 2.0 sites has made it so much easier to meet people. The old ideas of the 'singles club' and the 'singles dance' have well and truly been buried. By starting on-line you can get to know a lot about a person before first meeting them.

There are so many more places to go out on dates when you are fit and healthy. A leisurely walk in the park can be expanded by a nice row boat rental. Looking after you health means that there is even energy enough to go and look at the new plants in the garden centre before ending your date.

There are added benefits to keeping healthy, and one of them is being able to be adventurous and stretch out the day on first dates. Who needs to be young again when we have it all now.
