If you've got a knack for being creative and an eye for color, patterns, and fonts then you've pretty much got all it takes to put together a nice website. If you want to go wild and turn a basic spicy foods domain into a raging inferno dressed in warm colors then there's probably someone out there willing to pay you to do it. If you see an empty rock n roll band website dressed in dull grays and a flat text and want to amp it up with back and neon with smoking guns and grungy text then they'd most likely be pleased to have you on board.
Website design doesn't take pure genius. It only takes a good eye for design and some minor coding skill. Almost all major universities offer a course in website design. There are even several specialty schools such as ITT Tech and UAT that can accommodate your studies online. If you're interested in a career in website design you really shouldn't hesitate. Enroll in a course and get on your way!
